You don’t have time to be precious about your work.
This is advice that is often given but so hard to apply. It’s probably why creating comics can become such a grueling thing. You sit down to draw and before you know it you’ve drawn, erased, and redrawn the same panel ten times over.
It’s hard to separate yourself from your work while your in it and ‘being precious’ is something that even long time professionals have to keep an eye on.
Today on the podcast, Eisner nominated cartoonist, Joelle Jones stops by to talk all about how she keeps ‘being precious’ in check.
You probably know Joelle’s work from her recent run on Batman with Tom King or her creator owned comic series, Lady Killer.
